Viga carbon fiber chair – Carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer, carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic or carbon-fiber reinforced thermoplastic, is an extremely strong and light fiber-reinforced polymer which contains carbon fibers. The binding polymer is often a thermoset resin such as epoxy. The composite may contain other fibers, such as aramid e.g. Kevlar, Twaron, aluminum, or glass fibers, as well as carbon fiber.
The reinforcement will give the CFRP extreme strength and rigidity; measured by stress (mechanics) and elastic modulus respectively. My goal was to experiment with the Viga chair form and see how thin I can make the design and in the same time keep its functionality and good ergonomic.
